Google Ads for Hotels: More Direct Bookings, Less Dependence on Booking Platforms
We manage Google Ads for hotels, resorts and boutique properties in Cyprus, Greece, Italy and Poland. The goal is simple: guests who book on your own website, tracked down to the booking, so you know what every reservation costs and what it earned.

Why Hotels Use Google Ads for Direct Bookings
A guest who books through a platform usually costs you a commission, often 15% or more, and the platform keeps the relationship. A guest who books on your website pays you directly and can be contacted again. Google Ads puts your own website in front of travellers at the moment they search, for example "hotel in Paphos with pool" or "boutique hotel Crete", and you pay only when they click.
The difficulty is that hotel clicks are expensive when the account is not set up carefully. Most of the work is in choosing the searches worth paying for, keeping out the ones that are not, and measuring bookings, not just visits. That is where we focus.
What We Set Up for Your Hotel
Search campaigns for high-intent guests
Campaigns around searches such as hotel, resort, boutique hotel, villa and "where to stay" in your destination and in your guests' languages, with tight match types and ads that lead with your best reasons to book direct.
For: every property.Brand protection
A small campaign on your own hotel name so booking platforms and competitors do not take the top of the page when guests search for you by name.
For: properties with a known name.Remarketing
Ads for visitors who looked at rooms or started a booking and left, with a clear reason to come back and finish on your site.
For: any site with steady visits.Booking tracking
GA4 and Google Ads connected to your booking engine, with cross-domain tracking and booking value, plus calls, WhatsApp and email enquiries for request-to-book hotels.
For: everyone. Done first.Hotel campaigns and free booking links
Where your booking engine can connect to Google, we advise on Google hotel listings and free booking links, so your rates also appear where guests compare hotels.
For: properties with a connected engine.AI-assisted search term review
Every day an AI assistant reviews the search terms and proposes negative keywords and changes. A person approves each one. Read about our AI Google Ads management.
For: accounts with spend that leaks.Tracking First: What Counts as a Booking
Before we spend your budget, we make sure the account measures what matters. Many hotel accounts count page views or a 30-second visit as a "conversion", so the bidding system learns to find browsers, not guests. We set up:
- Completed bookings with the booking value, passed from your booking engine to GA4 and Google Ads.
- Phone clicks, WhatsApp clicks, email clicks and contact forms for properties that take reservations by enquiry.
- Page views and timers only as secondary signals, never as the goal.
This is the same approach we explain in why every Google Ads campaign needs proper tracking.
Where Hotel Google Ads Budgets Leak
Job and staff searches
Searches like hotel jobs or hotel vacancies bring clicks and no guests. We add them as negative keywords.
Platform and comparison names
Guests typing the name of a booking platform are looking for that platform. We exclude them and keep your budget for searches where your own site can win.
Wrong destination or wrong stay
Searches for other cities, long-term rentals, free stays or day passes. We review the search terms every week and remove what does not fit.

Seasonality, Markets and Languages
Hotel demand changes with the calendar, so the plan changes too. We start before the season, when guests are comparing options, raise the budget when conversion data supports it, and protect the shoulder months with offers aimed at the markets that travel then.
- Markets: we target the countries your guests come from, not only your own country, with ads and landing pages in their language.
- Landing pages: the ad leads to the room or offer the guest searched for, not only to the homepage.
- Offers: direct-booking benefits (free cancellation terms, upgrades, breakfast) shown in the ad and on the page.

How We Work With a Hotel
- Free review. We look at your website, booking engine, current ads and the searches in your destination, and tell you honestly if Google Ads fits.
- Tracking and structure. Booking and enquiry tracking, campaign structure, negative keywords and landing pages before the budget goes live.
- Launch and learn. The first weeks show which searches, countries and rooms convert. We adjust weekly.
- Report and scale. A monthly report with bookings, revenue and cost per booking. We scale what pays back and stop what does not.
What Affects the Cost
We do not publish fixed prices, because the right plan depends on the factors below. After the free review we give you a clear proposal.
- The competition for hotel searches in your destination and season.
- The number of markets and languages.
- Your room rate and the value of a booking.
- The quality of your booking engine and website.
- Whether you also want remarketing, Meta ads or local SEO.
The ad budget is paid to Google directly from your own account. Our management fee is separate and clearly stated.

Google Ads for Hotels: Frequently Asked Questions
How much should a hotel spend on Google Ads?
It depends on your room rate, your season and the markets you target, so we do not quote a figure before looking at the search demand for your destination. A sensible start is a test budget in the pre-season, enough to collect real booking data, and then scale what works. We show you the expected cost per booking before you commit to a larger budget.
Can Google Ads really reduce my dependence on booking platforms?
It can shift part of your demand to your own website, where you keep the full rate and the guest relationship. We cannot promise a specific percentage, because it depends on your price, reviews and booking engine. What we do guarantee is measurement: you see how many bookings and how much revenue each campaign produced, so you can compare the real cost with the commission you pay today.
Does this work with my booking engine?
Most booking engines can send booking data to Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads, including engines that run on a separate domain. We check this in the first call. If your engine cannot report bookings, we track enquiries (forms, calls, WhatsApp and email) and agree a way to match them with real bookings.
Which markets can you advertise to?
We run campaigns for hotels and tourism businesses in Cyprus, Greece, Italy and Poland, and target guests in the countries where they actually come from, with ads in their language. The right markets depend on where your guests come from today and where you want growth.
How soon will I see bookings?
First data and enquiries usually appear within 2 to 4 weeks of launch. Travel demand is seasonal, so we plan campaigns before the season and use the first weeks to learn which searches, countries and landing pages convert. Results vary by property and season.
Do I need Google Hotel Ads?
Not necessarily. Hotel campaigns and free booking links need a connection between your booking engine and Google, and they suit some properties better than others. We explain the options and recommend them only when they fit your property and budget.
Do you also run Meta ads and SEO for hotels?
Yes. Many hotels combine Google Ads with Meta remarketing for visitors who did not book, and with local SEO so the property appears in Google Maps. See our social media marketing and local SEO pages.
Do I keep ownership of my Google Ads account?
Yes. The Google Ads, Analytics and Business Profile accounts are always yours. We work inside them with your permission, and you can see every change.
